about

This is the last thing I recorded at the old Bad Racket studio before I joined the Army. I must of released it after I got out of Airborne school? I went home to Ohio for a month before I left, and recorded it in that time. I had been sleeping on my friends couch for the better part of a year in Hollywood, and before that was at my friends house in Deltona, FL hitting golf balls in a dried up lake bed and reading Colin Powells autobiography.

These songs were all written while in Los Angeles, probably recorded on my phone as demos at some point in a bathroom. My friend made me a going away video and it was incredible. The group of friends I had while I was there seemed to disband when I left. I miss the girl in the picture. She told me in the video she would send me bunches of nudes while I was in the Army. She sent two in the weeks after I left, then got back with her ex boyfriend and has been ever since. We still talk, and I used her cat as a character in a children's book I made for my nieces and nephews.

June 11 is also my birthday.

I don't bleed is kind of a joke, in a way. Before my love affair with the girl in the picture I was dating someone that was appalled when I drank almond milk from the carton at her apartment. She told my friend she knew it would never work because I was a "lower class" than her. Me and this girl kind of bonded over that, and it's a bit about our affair together. It was a great time.

See You In is pretty self explanatory. I made it after I embarrassed myself by getting too drunk at an event that was for myself.

Through a bunch of fiddling and strumming I realized Tom Waits "Lie to me" is the same chord progression as The Misfits "Die Die My Darling" so I combined them. Tom and his wife have a licensing company that sues people often, and they are not ok with this on here.

Why'm I Thinkin' is an older song that I re-recorded vocals baritone, as opposed to the original where I sang it way out of my range. There is an awesome video for it under Joe Yezbak - JOE/Y/ on youtube, which is the moniker I used to tour with.
